PC won't turn On?

Hey Guys,

I turned my GF's PC off at the PSU today and now it won't turn back on! I've had a nosey inside and the motherboard light is not on and I am getting no response from anything. So I am now thinking the PSU has had it basically?

I am currently in the Dog House..

Sounds like PSU to me, is the connector in OK? Can you smell anything from the PSU, didn't see any smoke etc?

All I saw was a big flash of Blue from the back of the PSU.

That probably should've been in the first post

Edit: if she didn't see it happen, just keep mentioning lightning and power surges ... On the plus side it could be cheap to fix if it was just the PSU.

power surge is a great excuse, as long as she dont have a surge protector.

i'd say im 99% certain its the psu, just buy her a budget 20quid 500w job.

Well I went over to see her today and took a old PSU. Which was faulty any how!

So I was sneaky and took a perfectly good PSU out of her brothers PC, stuck it in hers. Put the broken one from my gf's in the brothers pc, and said that the one I put her PC was a new one. And that it must have been a power surge!
