PC wont turn on

Hi, I just tried to turn my pc on at the main switch on the psu and it wont boot up. There is a ticking noise and the fans are trying to start up but they wont.The ticking I think is coming from the psu. I dont get anything on the screen. Also the hard drive light is flashing. Do you think that the PSU has gone or the hard drive? It did happen last week but i left it 5 mins and then it was ok. Any ideas?

Could be motherboard screws shorting ?

To check your power supply remove all plugs from your pc components, plug a fan in into your power supply then short pins 13 & 14 on the 24 pin ATX connector.
If your PSU is ok the fan you connected to it should run and the psu cooling fan should start.

Found out what the problem was, the main power/24pin connecting to the mobo wasnt connected properly.
