Hi all,

The PC was working fine last night, and I went to turn it on this evening and it wont even turn on.

The green power light is on (mobo light) I have tried messing with the switch wiring and tried another switch (always have spares) but it still doesn't even turn on.

Specs:
Hiper PSU (450w I think)
AMD 64 (s939) 4200+ (stock)
1.5gb generic DDR
2x HDD (80 and 120)
BFG 7800GTO

There is a slight buzz from the PSU but that has always been there

Are there any tests that I can do to rule out anything?

Thanks

If it wont even attempt to boot at all it sounds like the PSU has failed, do you know a friend who has a PC? maybe you could borrow his PSU and test if it works in your comp

I have an old Q-tec(? - dodgy gold ones) Shall I try that?

I tried the paperclip "jump start" test, wouldn't power

Panic over, I found a spare PSU which I put to one side for not working in my old PC, and it works a treat :) *touches wood*

I have a spare gold qtec one for emergencies as well hehe glad panic is over as it really is panic when the main pc breaks hehe
