Just stripped my PC and gave it a clean using a brush/air and was careful to make sure I had my motherboard on my anti-static bag and touch case before moving components and now after putting it back together it wont turn on.

The motherboard has a green light showing its getting power but when I press the power button on my antec 900 the lights and all my fans move for 1 second and then go off. It did this 3x and I dont want to try it anymore as I dont want to short something. Ideas?

Antec 900
Intel i7 920 (h50 cooler)
Intel dx58so
Thermaltake 700w psu
HD 4870
Samsung F1 sata drive
Optical DVD sata drive

There could have be a short. Double check all screws, as one might be touching a component on the board.

Were you overclocked, Try a CMOS reset, also did you remove the memory?

Just disconnected everything and now following the manual hehe, I wasnt overclocked and will make sure there arent any screws touching a component on the board!

followed the manual and computer started and then turned itself off after 10 seconds. It then restarded and is now running with all fans lights cd drive works gpu fan works but it wont post? It doesnt have the beep and then load into bios screen? Ideas? It was overclocked.

Only thing I have changed is added push/pull to my h50 and I have just managed to fit it on due to the angle of the ram as its above the cpu. The plastic bit of the fans cover is touching the heatsink of the ram so its plastic/plastic surely this doesnt make a difference tho?

Have you tried doing the CMOS reset and placed the memory in the correct slots.

The plastic to plastic should not course any issues.

resetting the cmos has worked, took the plastic bit off the jumper and then left it off, started it didnt work and when I put it on normal mode it worked fine. Thanks, really cba doing a cable tidy after that lmfao!

So glad it wasnt the ram otherwise I would have had to take everything out again lol as the ram is stuck in place due to my push/pull config :P

Gd news is that my temps have dropped like 20c lmfao. All the way down to 27-33c idle :D YAY
