Hi
i was moving files from an old 320gb usb drive to my 2TB External drive, as part of my monthly backup to numerous drives etc
i started it during the rugby and left the pc on whilst i went into the shower etc
just gone to pc to check on progress and pc was off!!

tried turning it back on, the motherboard lights up briefly then goes off and then keep pressing the on button and nothing happens.

tried a different power lead, same again motherboard lights up, fan starts to spin, then goes off, comes back on again, then goes off and will not attempt to turn back on unless i turn power at wall off and on again...

obviously its getting on now so not doing anything now, but it sound like to me a motherboard or a power supply issue?
so without buying another PSU or mobo, is there anything i can test to rule one or the other out?

my hardware is:
msi b85m gaming motherboard
i5 4460
8gb Team group ram (i think)
evga supernova gs 650w

Clear CMOS, like mentioned above.

Other than that, try booting from outside the case, to eliminate any potential issues or shorts.

Stick the motherboard on a box, with minimum of components plugged in. One stick of ram, gpu, boot drive.

Report back.
