PC Won't turn on

So I have been umming and ahhing about if I should upgrade to Zen2 recently and I guess this has made the decision for me but I would like to work out what is going on with PC anyway lol.

Late Sunday my PC turned off randomly in the middle of a game of Civ 6 (That I was kicking ass in as well). When I hit the power button nothing happened at all. No fans spinning, no beeps from the mobo nothing.

Last night I tried to work out what was going on. I have a spare power supply so I plugged the spare in and powered the motherboard and CPU, and put my monitor on the on board graphics and it booted to the bios. At this point I thought it was just the power supply so I took the old one out and replace it, went to turn it back on and nothing, same symptoms as before, no fans, no lights, no beeps nothing.

I tried to swap the power lead over (I was a bit ****** I might of swapped the entire thing out and it was just a dud cable) but that didn't help either.

I then used the old power supply, and just plugged in the motherboard and CPU, and it once again booted to the BIOS.

I am a bit confused on what is causing this, and would appreciate any insight or ideas any of you might have?

What other components do you have plugged into the motherboard?

If I was to take a quick guess I would say it may be overheating.

try your ram sticks one at a time

The test that doesn't work has everything plugged in. I guess my next step is to try and take bits out one at a time and see when it kicks into life? I have just never see it not boot at all before to be honest (although my experience is fairly limited)

The case switch works with only the motherboard and CPU plugged in, but I also have an on/off switch on the motherboard itself and that doesn't work either.

I would start with just the CPU plus 1 stick of RAM, boot into Windows make sure it works, stress test it and then add another component one at a time, each time booting into Windows and stress testing for a while.

If you have a GPU that's failed it can cause no-power issues

It is the GPU, thanks guys.

There goes the most of the resale value, but it was the first thing I tested today so on the plus side at least I didnt have to spend too much time testing today lol
