Hi!
My Pc used to run smoothly for about 3 months stable overclocked E8500 4ghz!
but now it freezes straight after VIsta is loaded!

tried to:
update drives,
change ram,
set different BIOS settings

nothing helps, can someone recommend anything?

I know you say you have changed your ram, but have you tried MemTest86 on it from a bootable floppy/CD to make sure the RAM is OK? Vista also comes with a memory tester in the Safe Mode menu [F8 when booting, after the BIOS screens] as I recall.

Try Safe Mode as well.

Also, try a live Linux CD and see if that boots up and runs Ok - that way you can tell if it's just Windows wetting itself.

If Safe Mode and a linux live CD work, then it might just be something in teh startup section of Windows going awry, which would be nothing to worry about - a windows reinstall at the very worst to fix, and probably something far easier.

did u do a bios reset recently?
on my mobo i have to disable some features, as with these enabled it can cause instablilty and wont boot all the way to my os they are.
EIST
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)

Have you tried booting at stock, to make sure it's not a software issue?

This

I was banging my head off of walls when I changed my RAM. It put the comp back to default and forgot to turn off these settings. Was struggling to get 2.3 out of my C2D 2.13 :D

They are the settings that auto adjust the voltage and such? The power savers that essentially cripple your overclocks.

Nope, I did not, d'ya think It might help?

CPU config is set to Disable everytnig,.. so I do not think it is issue with this

Can you post your BIOS settings? (Just your volts/clocks page, we don't need to know your boot sequence :p)

I would probably set the CPU to default and clock the RAM.

If no problems start the CPU overclocking again, bit by bit.

Or vica versa. Only way to really identify whats causing the problems.

I already did it, I run rtock CPU 3.16ghz and overclocked ram 1111mhz (original 1066mhz or 800mhz) works with no problem
