You should get Sandy bridge instead as its much faster - http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/203?vs=288

The motherboard still does Crossfire/SLi at 8X/8X
The PSU is much better, modular cabling and has the power to run a pair of cards.
The RAM is low profile, so adding a aftermarket cooler wont be an issue.

with the new fw(0009) its much closer, plus from what I've read there are some reliabilty issues with the sandforce drivers.

Well 128GB wont last long, and if the TOXIC doesnt unlock your left with just a 6950 that costs more money.

Its ok, dont think spending £8 on a tube of thermal paste is going to do a significant/noticeable increase in reducing temps, its a few degrees at best.
