Hi,

I have a MSI K9VGM-V AM2 motherboard with AMD Sempron 2800+ and 512MB PC5300 Memory, what FSB, etc, do i need to set in the Bios.

How much difference in performance will upgrading PC5300 RAM to PC6400 make if i'm using a Athlon 64 X2 3800+? Currently using 512MB PC5300 with 64MB for onboard GFX on XP Pro but it seems a bit slow if i open multiple apps or switch user. It's mainly used for office and web design work, no games.

Any suggestions for a decent 17/19" Monitor, that will be mainly used for Office Work/Web Design? What should i be looking for, 500:1? 700:1? 300cd/m? 8ms?

Thanks.

Depends if you are going to overclock tbh, in everyday applications you probably wont notice much difference in upgrading the RAM.

EDIT: As for the monitor I just bought a 19" Widescreen Hanns-G one, a steal @ £140 as its got DVI as well, came with no dead pixels, has 5ms response and a great contrast ratio and its very very bright.

The faster speed RAM will make little difference. I would add another 512 of the same in preference to replacing what you have.
The X2 on the other hand should be noticeably quicker in single & dual core operation.
