I'm thinking of getting the Geil Ultra DDR2 2.0GB PC6400 (4-4-4-12) but have seen the faster Ballistix Memory DDR2 PC2-8500 (5-5-5-15) for a bit more money, would the faster pc2-8500 make that much of a noticeable difference that I should buy it, or just go for the cheaper pc6400?

I use my pc for game dev and 3d work by the way guys,

all help greatly appreciated.

hmmm...thinking of a q6600 on an asus p5kc, so pretty much as far as it'll go, not too sure what that equates in terms of FSB though

You wont need the PC-8500 stuff...

Even if you take the Q6600 to around 3.2, the 800MHZ RAM should handle it just fine on 1:1

or even better still, get the ballistix pc2 5300 ram, this clocks crazily, and should be plenty for quad clocking...
