Hello, everybody , i was just looking for some advice really , i have a mobo that dosent suport pci 2.0 (only 1.1), and i was wondering how much of a performance decrease i would get when running a ati 5850 on my current mobo. If any how much of a drop in fps would i be looking at, and also would i benfit from my current Gpu Ati 5770?:) Thanks.;)

Hello mate thanks for the reply. Yea i'm forum virgin so just getting acquainted with the forum rules. sorry. ill have to read up on them, and also yea ill change my sig, its kina crappy too:). And yea i agree with you the first post looked horrific.lol. Right well for xmas im thinking of buying a intel e8400, i wont be overclocking because my mobo isnt good enough, so i'd rather not. What are you views on using this mobo for the e8400 and the 5850? Oh yea, is the e8400 at stock a powerfull cpu for source games?cheers.

im just mainly playing source games. I.e.:TF2, and css.

thanks.

Well know the 5770 is a great card , its just im a bit of an enthusiast and like to try and upgrade as much as i can. And Know my framerates are quite good.

yea icould , but id rather the E8400 so that when i do get round to buying a new system i can swap the cpu over , instead of buying another cpu.And then overclock from there .Btw what would the peformance be like with Applications?
