Do I need to lock the PCI bus which runs at 33.3 by default?
When using clockgen it goes up but the PCIx16 doesnt.

Is this right?

Yeah, you should really lock the PCI bus as well. There might be an option in the bios that's set to auto, if you change it to 33.33MHz that should lock it.

It can cause data corruption to any devices that hang off the PCI bus and generally interferes with system stability.

Locked it to 33.33.

Thing is, as soon as I touch the CPU HTT, regardless of running the ram at a 133 divider or the default 200 mhz, it simply doesnt start loading windows!
Increasing V/Core to 1.4 doesnt help either.

I also get Uknown Processor when I boot up. CPUZ finds as an Dual Core opteron, Toledo.

If I understand this right. Running HTT at 280, multi at 9 and RAM at 133 and HT set to auto the ram should acutally run just around 200mhz?

Mobo is an A8N-E which I heard should be good for 280mhz HTT without much sweat.

280 could well be the limit of the board to be honest and it could also be the limit of the CPU.

You'll also need to change the HT multiplier from Auto to x3 and that might let you get more FSB.

Cheers mate will give it a go as soon as the updates for XP are down.

edit: No luck at all. Wont load into XP even at 220HTT
Surely I am doing something wrong! It is supposedly a good stepping and the board should be good for 280HTT atleast.

CPUZ also reports the wrong speeds. Sticks to 1800mhz regardless of what it says in the bios.

Strange.
