PCI bus query - MSI K8N SLI query

Hi

Just starting to think about having a go at overclocking my new CPU (Opteron 180) and I keep reading that it's a good idea to "lock" the PCI bus. Now while I can find a setting in the BIOS for the PCIe bus (currently set to 100), I can't see anything for the PCI bus!

Am I missing something, or does the Phoenix BIOS on this board not support this???

I had a quick play with CoreGen and as I move the FSB up, the PCI bus speed increases! Now I'm assuming this is not good news?

Any input would be welcome.

I've done a search of the forum but can't find an answer.

Weird...

I've discovered if you set "CPU spread spectrum" to disabled and the PCIe bus to 101 MHz. Then it appears to lock the PCI bus. Strange but true.

Now I might stand a chance of overclocking the CPU properly in the BIOS.

Now I wonder why MSI made such a convoluted way of doing it?
