PCI cards detection DS3 Motherboard

Hi - I'd appreciate some suggestions - last night finished building my new computer and it booted up (yay!) and everything seems to be ok.
BUT - at the moment it doesn't seem to detect the pci cards. It's a Gigabyte DS3, and the two cards are a Soundblaster 4 and an Alcatel Speedtouch ADSL Modem.
I've double checked all the motherboard drivers are installed, but in device manager there is no sign of the two cards.
Next to network controller there is a yellow question mark - is this connected?
I've put both cards in the bottom two pci slots - could the problem be that I haven't filled from the top?
Again - I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks.

Have you tried to detect the hardware using the add new hardware in the control panel?.Also which bios are you using on that board?.

Not yet - I'll give it a try when I get home today.
It's the F3 bios which was on the board when it arrived.

Strange. maybe try updating to the lastest bios. My board didn't have any problems detecting my wireless nor my sound card. And I think mine even shipped with the F1 bios, although I'm now running it on the F4e bios.

Did you plug them in the bottom two slots or from the top? Strange question, but I suppose it might have an effect...
I might try a reinstall tonight and see if that sorts it out.

Thanks for the replies chaps - got it all up and running now - the usual ferreting around post install and finally found the right way of getting it all sorted!
Good motherboard the DS3, it seems, and the manual is slightly more comprehensible than my previous MSI one!
