I'm not sure if this has already been asked, but I'm thinking of getting a new gfx card in the coming months and because my mobo is PCI-e x16 I'm not sure which card to go for. I'd like to get a card which will last me a year or two before I have to upgrade my whole system with a ddr3 i7 (or whatever processor is out then). But I'm not sure if some of the top end cards (PCI-e 2.0) are worth putting in a aBit IP35pro mobo which only has x16.

Whats the best card I can get most out of? Or does it not work like that? Does the fact I don't have 2.0 really matter? I just don't want to fork out for a card which I will only get 70% of its power due to my mobo.

The ABit ip35pro pci-e slots are pci-e 2.0 not 1.0. All p35 chipsets are.

The only problem with the p35 boards is the the 2nd slot only runs at 4x speed so it is not worth crossfiring cards.

Yeah i'm wrong. Having a bad night :(

I should know better since I had an ABit IP35pro until 2 months ago :o
