I'm thinking about buying myself a sound card as I've been without one for a few months now and I really miss the quality audio. As I'm also on the verge of getting a second gpu for a crossfire setup, I was wondering if a PCI-E sound card would be fine along with two gpu's. I'm not sure if there's something in terms of bandwidth I need to take into account; or are the x16 slots totally seperate from the x1 PCI-E slots?

That is all, grazie.

That depends on the motherboard.

Hi,

The two graphics slots will be using the 16 lanes available on the CPU.

The pci-e single slots use the 8 lanes available on the p67 chipset, however these are shared with other controllers such as things like USB 3.0. However using the single slots is no problem.

If you have the P8P67 you can use the two 1x slots with no problem. If you have the P8P67 pro and you use the bottom 4x slot it would disable the two 1x slots.

Hope this explains it :)
