PCi-e bus 8 Only With 7900GT ?

I have a Asus A8N sli deluxe board, on bois 1011, and installed 7900gt, and nvidia properties reports on 8x pci-e, not the 16 it should be, is it a bois issue with my board, or am i missing somethink ?

Put it in the other slot, lots did this with DFI mobos cause the blue passive zalman dont let bottom slot be used and they know its only 8x but claim it dont hurt performance as AGP8x is not fully used today.

Thats all I know and from another forum I am member of.

BTW, this might not be the case for you though.

wont make any difference. but its porbbaly a jumper setting on your mobo that splits the 2 PCIE to 2x8x PCIE or u jump it to 16x2 or something

Sorted it, silly mistake, forgot to turn ai selector card round, stupid boy i am

Cool but its fact on the DFI that in single card use, the specific slot needs to be used, if not and you want a silent heatsink to get rid of thats bad fan its like this :
