PCI-E compatibility

Just wanted to know whether I can use a PCI-E 2.0 (x16) graphics card with a motherboard which only has PCI-E x16.

Got the Asus P5B and want to use the ATI 4670 with it.

Yes, that card will not 'max' pci-e x16 anyway so will be fine.

PCI-E 2.0 graphics cards are backwards compatible with 1.0/1.1 slots (Well most of the time), so you shouldn't have much of a problem. Some x16 cards can work on lower spec x8 or x4 PCI-E graphics slots too.

yeah mate it sure will, but will only run at the speed of your motherboard pci-e slot
