I've finished building my girlfriends PC, but i'm slightly concerned about the PSU's PCI-E connectors... It has 2 x 6+2 pin connectors, but they are both on the same cable! The PSU is a Cooler Master GX 550W... Will a GTX 660 Ti be ok using both connectors on a single cable? My Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold has all the PCI-E connectors on seperate cables.

The PC seems to running fine so far, but i've not really stressed the GPU much yet.

Specs (it's a budget build):

Asrock B75 Pro3-M motherboard
Intel Core i5 2500 CPU
8GB Avexir DDR3 1600 RAM (2x4GB)
KFA2 Geforce GTX 660 Ti EX OC graphics card
1TB Toshiba/Hitachi SATA 3 HDD
LG SATA Blu-ray drive
550W Cooler Master GX PSU
Xigmatek Asgard Pro case

The Cooler Master PSU should handle these specs just fine, but i'm just not sure on both the PCI-E connectors being on the same cable

EDIT: looks like i cocked up the thread title... It should read 'connectors'... It's getting late :D

If they’ve wired this way they presumably used wire heavy enough to handle the current.

The plugs are the weak point, with each pin able to handle a certain amount of current.

As above. Most of the PSU's ive ever owned have two PCI-E plugs on 1 wire and usually include another one (modular) uncase you have dual cards. Its fine, fairly thick guage wire usually.

Will be fine mate, they've obviously designed the PSU to be able to take two PCI 6+2 pin connectors down that one wire. that one wire is probably just as thick as if you had two seprate and put them together (- the braiding if they are braided)
