PCI-E Connection to PSU

Hi,
Think I'm going mental but I can't seem to connect the dedicated 'red' PCI-E connectors on my Enermax Galaxy 1000W to my graphics card.
I've got the 6 pin cable (both ends) but it won't fit into the power supply either way up.

That's odd, How hard are you pushing it? I've had to push some quite hard.

Pushed really hard and the cable will only go in one way. The black ones go in fine.
