PCI-E Gen3?

in the bios it says pci-e gen3 disabled. should i enable it to increase gpu performance?

my board is an MSI Z77A-GD55

What graphic card do you have? Only the latest 600 series card From Nvidia and the 7000 series cards from ATI use PCI-E gen 3.

Also depends on CPU. You need an Ivybridge CPU in combination with an AMD 7000 series or Nvidia 600 series card.

I have an i5 Ivybridge and nvidia GTX 680. So i Should be safe enough to enable it then??

It's safe to enable it then.

I doubt you'll notice any increased performance though.

PCI-E gen3 is just a gimmick right?
I haven't kept updated with it, please prove me wrong!
