Hi,

I'm building a pc, an additional one to add to my networks of pcs..

I needed a gpu, not for gaming or otherwise I just need it for display purposes..

I would like it to handle vista aswell if possible...

What do you guys recommend? cheaper the better, it purely for display purposes only...no photochopping, gaming or anything else...

If it works out cheaper because it cannot handle vista please spec me 1 which can handle vista and 1 that cannot...

thanks a lot

cheers in advance..

As Aero runs on DX9 as well afaik, all you'd need is something simple like a basic X550, X300, X600 etc or the Nvidia equivalent (7300 Series)

great, thanks for that

whats more bang for buck?

X550, X300, X600 , X1300

Or A

6200....

please advise, thanks in advance..

cheers

X600 pro is about 9600XT speed, so I'd guess the x600 is about the speed of an old 9600 basic, unsure of the x1300. The other 3 cards are pants.

I'd go for a 6600. They maybe difficult to get a hold of now. A 6200LE or 7300GS/LE would be fine for what you're suggesting. :)

Yep, 6600 if you go second hand, they're a bit faster than all of those, in some cases by a fair bit, although they're weak compared to the old 6600GT
