PCI-E or PCI sound card?

hello, wanting to add a good soundcard into my system however i have hit a small problem, i only have 1 PCI-E slot on my mobo, I also use a wireless network card. Is there any noticeable difference between PCI or PCI-e sound card, for example

or is it better to have the network card in the PCI-e card?

I have a PCI Xonar D1, works fine. PCI will not be saturated with 8 channel sound.

What you have to take into consideration is future upgrades. More and more motherboards are coming out now with no pci slots at all. I reckon within a year or two the pci slot will be gone.

ok thanks guys, its just a pain that my second PCI-e slot is covered by the GPU, then i have 2 open PCI slots. so i will just throw a PCI sound card in and a PCI-E wireless card.
