Hi there,

On the verge of getting my GTX 670, just wondering about the power needed. I've seen that it needs external PSU PCI-E power plugged into it - which ports would I need? I have a plethera of connectors on a PCI-E modular cable with my PSU - which ones will I need to plug in/use with an Asus GTX 670.

It will require x2 pcie cables from your psu, either 2x 6 pin or 1x 6 pin and 1x 8 pin, (model dependent). Theese plug into the ports on the side of the card near the back end.

Okay it seems I have 2 of the 6+2 pin connectors on 1 cable, that should suffice right?

it requires 2x 6pin (at least mine, which is Asus Direct CU II)

I run them in SLI with TX650 which only has 2x 6+2 pin, so I have that plugged 1 in each and the second 6 pin is powered by an adapter from 2 molex cables.

Yes, will be fine. Does your particular asus 670 have x2 6 pin ports or 1x 6 and 1x 8 pin. Some non reference 670's featured the latter.

I'm not sure as of yet, haven't recieved it. Either way with that I should be okay, this cable from the PSU have 2 6+2 pin PCI-E connectors on it.
