Basically i'm a total noob to PCI-E gfx cards...

I'm soon to have my grubby mitts on a PCI-E system with a 2900GT on its way in the post -not the most amazing card but a step up from an AGP 6800! And it was only 60 quid :p

What i'd like to know is if my HiperR 480w power supply is likely to have/need an 8 pin PCI-E connector?
It's about 4 years old now but it's still going strong and wasn't cheap at the time, i'm trying to upgrade for as cheap as pos - if it doesn't, can u simply get an adaptor to power the card from a standard molex power cable??

If any1 knows about the same psu or can shed any light on the subject i'd be most grateful! Cheers :)

2900GT i think has 1x 8x Pin PCI-E connector on it, but im sure you can just use a 6x Pin PCI-E, and if your PSU doesn't have one, the card should come with an adapter supplied. :)

Excellent news, was gettin' worried there! The 2900GT is a retail package so **** come with all the bits - was the last sapphire 1 from ocuk, was sore after missing the last 30 quid x1950 so grabbed 1 of these while i could!

Thanks for a speedy reply :)
