Hi guys. Bought 2 460 1gb as in my Sig. Just noticed on gpuz that they are not running both on x16. It says pcie x16@8 . I have a p55 motherboard as in my Sig. It has 3 lanes but even so I think it would have to be a p58 mobo for them to both run on 16 from the off. Is there any way I can get these both to run on x16 without changing board. I really don't want to change board, please help.

You can't get them to run both at x16 without changing the board.

However, I wouldn't worry - x8 is plenty fast enough for modern graphics cards. This test shows that a dual card arrangement at x8/x8 runs less than 4% slower than the same cards at x16/x16. Personally, I don't think the cost/hassle of changing boards is worth it for this very small performance bump.

Is it worth me changing board then at all? Can someone recommend a board if I was to change that works with my setup. How much performance am i losing not having 2@16 ? Is it worth me still having 2 cards. Isn't there some kind of booster unit or something that can make it happen .

ok lads thanks. just saw that it said 8x on gpuz earlier and though omg now whats wrong haha. im gonna upgrade mobo in maybe 12 months i think. but yeah im glad its ok.
