I want to get a cheap motherboard + celeron D ~3ghz for building a fileserver.

I'm planning on getting a decent pci-e sata raid controller. Something like a Highpoint RocketRaid 2310 PCI-E 4 Port SATAII card.

The description says that this is a PCI-e 4x card. What motherboard would you reccomend for putting this in?

Have a look here

Has all the usual treats, PCI-E, DDRII, supports Celeron chips and has a PCI-EX1 slot for the Raid Card.

Not bad for 35 fish :)

Crap post there, must have been the Bombay Sapphire & Cranberry last night.

but it is a 4x card.

PCI-E X4 is found mainly on Server Boards, although you can fit them in any 8x or 16x slot also and some desktop mobo's do have them.

The Highpoint RocketRaid 2310 is used for hot swapping drives mainly, hence the need for 4x slots in servers.

Have a look here for the mobo and here on the specs for the Raid Card.
