Hi there.
Just got myself a 30cm powered 16x PCI-E riser for a rig I'm building. Custom case requires a long extension.
Essentially I can get to BIOS, card (gtx 560ti) is recognised by the BIOS (maximus VI impact) and displays on boot screen of windows and it was working prior to Nvidia driver installation on the desktop but post restarting with the driver installed, the screen goes black when I should get logon and after about 10 seconds the mobo crashes and restarts.
I set my PCI-E slot to Gen 2, did nothing and tried with and without the molex and that didn't work either. Card works a okay when plugged directly into the slot.
Using DVI output on the card and using a 500W corsair PSU which has plenty of grunt. To me it seems like the card isn't getting enough power but I can't be sure. It's weird since the OS recognises the card before driver installation as a 560Ti, but freaks out when I actually install the driver.
Any ideas?
Windows 8.1, latest Nvidia driver, 560Ti Direct CU II, 30cm 16X powered PCI-E riser, Maximus VI Impact stock BIOS (haven't yet updated).
Thanks.
