Hi,

I've created this thread here so people can post / talk about PCI-e risers and extender cards.

I'll kick off by saying that it's not an easy subject. The main thing is getting decent shielded x16. That's going to stay within spec and not too long etc.

I've seen PCB risers. 7cm ones, and 10cm ones. It's also a concern whether these accessories can actually support 3.0 spec. As it seem the new spec says NO. I don't have answers to these things.

Main problem (for me) and reasoning to start this thread is because I have a full ATX Skylake mobo, and for an SFF system it needs to rotate the GPU card to be parallel to the mobo. And that would put it upside-down IRT the mobo.

Unfortunately there's a forum rule whereby we can't link / menition competitor products / websites.

However I thought we could at least talk about our findings. And mention the brand name / product model number / identifiers and features (if applicable).

e.g. If someone got pci-e 3.0 x16 working on a riser at x16 mode... that would be awesome / good to report.

Same goes for failures too. It's useful information.

There are also certain SFF cases which employ risers. That are commercially available from well known case makers. It's welcome discussion here too.
