Brand new Asus P8Z77-V LX on a 2600k

Everything at stock and bios updated to latest ver on Asus site.

Neither of the two PCI/e slots are working, I've tried a new 7950 and my old 5770. and yes the PCI/e power is plugged in.

No output even at bios level, its as if both PCI/e slots are disabled. Looked in the UEFI bios, but not seeing anything obvious. The 2600k is the only active output at the moment.

I'm thinking i've got a bad mobo, unless someone tells me that I'm missing some obscure setting in the BIOS and that the onboard gfx of the 2600k HAS to be somehow disabled for any external GPU to work.

It shouldn't make a difference m8 if you plug something into the PCI-e slot on the motherboard
and make sure it has power and that's were the monitor is plugged in then that should
give you your image if its not then there is definitely something wrong with it buddy.

It wont be something in the BIOS unless you changed something prior to updating it.

Did u update the BIOS for a reason m8?

No, its shot. I've been on the phone with Asus (USA) since that's where I'm at. It's a faulty board that has to go back. They'll send me a new one in a couple of days, and upon receipt i'll return the faulty one.

Just gutted, cos i've got a nice new SSD, 2600k and a 7950 all waiting for her, for when she returns !

I guess I'm going to have to learn the art of patience.. :( :D
