PCI-E Soundcards

Basically I'm tempted to upgrade my Audigy 2 to an X-fi. Now the only this which will deter this, is for a PCI-E variant of the X-fi to come out soon. Anyone got any ideas?

There was an interview with someone inside of Creative maybe 2 months ago saying they where having trouble with PCI-E.

Im sure its comming but how soon is another question.

I dont honestly think its a big deal, id just get a PCI version.

I heard that Creative tested their soundcards on a PCI express bus and they were nowhere near as good as the normal PCI bus, something to do with latencies.

Possibly later this year, but I wouldn't count on it being soon. Apparently they've had problems dealing with a poor implimentation of the PCIe asynchronous transfer mode by chipset manufacturers, or at least that's what a Creative engineer told me. Could be complete hype.
