My motherboard is getting on a bit now and only has PCI-e version 1.0

I was recomended a card that supports PCI-e version 2.0

this is what i have

Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 Motherboard
Ati Radeon HD 3850 512Mb
see this thread for my full build
and i was recomended one of the HD4870's

Will that have any issues with my mobo?

Thanks
Zero.

So it should be fine, thought i may go for HD5770 so i can then transplant it into a newer mobo when i finaly get my money together.

Would this still be workable?

What is the difference?

Thanks as allways.

Yes a 5700 would work fine too. Basically PCI-E 2.0 is a bit of a con...only the fastest and meanest cards actually benefit from the extra bandwidth it can provide.
