Hi all, I have a MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard. picture here: http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2010/11/msi-p67a-gd65-preview/msi-p67a-gd65-1.jpg

The first PCI-E x1 has my sound card in it, then of course my graphics card has double slot so covers the PCI-E x1 slot below the x16 slot where my gfx card sits. Then below that is my last PCI-E x1 slot which has my HDMI Capture HD card in.

So that leaves me with no more x1 slots. However I've been looking at getting one of these: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-048-BF

Now I've never gone SLI so I don't plan to now, I use a single high performance card. However, am I able to put this PCI-E x1 network card into my spare PCI-E x16 slot and it'll all work the same?

Thanks.

Please don't get it, makes no difference at all. The only good part is the traffic management software, but I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives.

If you still want a dedicated NIC, the Intel Gigabit CT is highly rated.

Agree with both the above posts. You really don't want to buy that nic though. You probably dont want an Intel one either, but if you really must offload tcp checksums and reduce the number of interrupts generated, Intel is the way to go.

Thanks all, Will be able to get this without worrying about slot issues; and thanks for the advice regarding this piece of hardware but I'm still going to buy one.
