Hey.
i got a crappy pc lying around the house and thought of using it again for general browsing and stuff. It has 2gb ram, intel pentium dual core....

The thing is it is quite old and the motherboard only supports pci-e x1 graphic cards.
Can anyone suggest me one?
do not really care about the price.

Ive seen manufacturer product descriptions for x4 cards, although nowhere actually stocks them, so an x1 may be pushing what is actually humanly possible or so it seems.

No guarrantees and I've not tried it myself, but others have had success with an x1 to x16 slot converter. Can be had for about £3. After that whichever card you like, although its got crippled gaming potential so you'll not want waste monies on anything remotely powerful, although if you intend to use it in future htpc type build maybe something with a bit of capability is better to carry over. Mounting may be awkward as it wont fit the bracket (maybe go for low profile card in that case).

Do you mean PCI express v1.0?

Pci-e x 1 is a small sized slot usually used for add-in cards other than graphics cards.

PCI express v1.0 on the other hand was the initial specification of the standard.
