hi i have a thermaltake view 31 case and i would like to use a riser cable for my gpu gtx 1070, i know that there own brand cables are bad so i am not even going to go there, i have seen ezdiy riser which is supposed to be a lot better, but i would like to know if anyone uses a riser cable on a high end gpu, and also some have a molex for power, if yor card pulls over 200watts how can any cable be safe? ps this is for gaming rig....

I believe Thermaltake have updated their riser cables. They are now much better quality. They should replace yours if you've got a dodgy one.

You can test yours by plugging the GPU directly into the MB and run some benchmarks. Then use the riser and bench again and see if there are significant differences (say more than 5%).

Remember the main bulk of power to a GPU is through the PCIE cable(s) from the PSU. The PCIE slot on the MB is only rated to 75W so not massive in the great scheme of things.

Li-Heat have good a good rep for riser cables if you want an alternative brand.
