Will you get any performance drop if running a PCI-E x16 card at PCI-x8 speeds, reason asking is that the current 975X chipset conroe boards only support PCI-X8 if you use the secondary PCI-E Graphics slot
, plan on putting a PCI-Ex1 tuner in the secondary slot as there are no free available PCI-E x1 slots in the board I want..so anyone know the answer?...

Don't both slots clock down to 8x each in Crossfire or SLI anyway?

You are correct they do - I was trying to ask whether a mobo upgrade when its available to get dual X16 slots for a Xfire solution would be worth it, thats all :D

Ah right, well that I do not know but creed just pointed out that RD600 will support full 16x/16x bandwidth. :)

The RD580 already supports Dual 16X

:)

Very true but as yet you cant get either an RD580 or 600 based intel board, so just waiting for these releases for Conroe

Myabe I should rebuild My rig with my abit RD580 based board, Opty 170, dual xfire etc etc and see how it performs.

Second thoughts - nahhhhh even for a bank holiday that seems too much hassle lol, and I have to rebuild My bedroom shuttle this weekend due to a new seagate hdd failing -grrrrrr
