PCI-e x16 running at x8?

Specs in sig, in gpu-z I noticed that it said PCI-e 3.0 x16 @ x8 2.0. Any ideas?

I think it might be because the sandybridge only supports PCI-E 2.0? Would be my guess!

It's more the x8, rather than pci-e 2.o, which I think my mobo doesn't support anyway.

Yea that's what I mean, it may be downscaling because it doesn't support PCI-E 3.0
Not sure why else it would do it.

Your CPU controls teh PCI X lanes and that CPU only has PCI 2.0 ability. In the Gene Z board you should be running 2.0 16X with the GPU in the top 16x slot.

Ah, currently it's in the bottom slot to give the most gap between my heatsink and the back of the card, thanks!
