Any one else waiting for this update? you should get increased bandwidth from 2.5Gpbs to 5Gpbs.
i have been keeping an eye out since 2004 seems like v2.0 will be implemented next year. I was just wondering how long before the mother board companies bgin to start using the new version.

i would probably say around the g90 + r700 era...

i think this comes under the 'its not needed but we'll do it because we know the public like big numbers' catagory. along with sata300 and agpx8

Precisely. AGP cards as a whole didn't generally saturate the AGP 4x bus, and upon AGP 8x's release, even less so.

AGP 8x was a completely pointless refresh of a standard that had many more years in it. Completely screwed over non-tech-savvy buyers who thought they needed new motherboards/video cards to keep up to date :(

PCIe 2.0 will be much the same IMO.
