PCI Express lane speed differences between ATI/Nvidia?

Hi there everyone. I've just been on google for ages trying to find an article that I've seen on here before. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've been looking for the search tab in here also but no luck.

It was for the different performance between the different PCI Express lane speeds: 1x 4x 8x and 16x between ATI/AMD and Nvidia. I've been looking for the last 45 minutes and I'm lost and in need of help.

Thanks for anyone that can help me as I'm missing clumps of hair .

Thank you for such a speedy response knowledge123 but this this isn't what I'm on about. I stumbled on that one in my search.

The article I'm looking for tested both ATI and Nvidia at 1x, 4x, 8x and 16x to see the differences. Nvidia showed a big difference between the speeds while ATI only really slowed at 1x speed.

The reason I want it is that I'm trying to advise a friend on what graphics card to buy. I want this article to show him that ATI are the better option with a PCI-Express lane running at 4x as it's what this article showed and I'd like for him to get the best for his money.
