pci problem

hi, ive just rebuilt my main rig and having some problems.

at first the system wouldnt boot at all. after playing around i found moving my graphics card from the blue pci slot to the black one made it work.

mobo pk5
GPU hd3870

,y question is, will this make the graphics card run slower and why wont it work in the blue slot. any idea welcome

Before I answer the other stuff, did you install a new motherboard without re-installing windows?

no, the pc wouldnt even boot with the graphics card in the blue pci slot.
in the black it boots and im currently installing XP.

Did you clear the CMOS? if not do you have a spare card to try in the top slot?

im going try to move the card into blue slot after windows installed. i gotta go now so ill post here 2moro.

ok guys its been a while, will but im back home. will i loose anything by putting it into the black pci-x slot if in single card mode. if i do i may need a new mobo after xmas if not nps.
