PCI problems

I currently have an Asus A8N-SLI SE board & for some reason the PCI slots have stopped worked. I have an X-Fi Music in one & an ethernet card in another, neither of which work any more. Just started in the last week or so. I'm currently using the onboard sound and lan port.

I reinstalled drivers which came with the board and checked both cards were well seated.

Is there anything else I can do to check the slots or is the board on it's way out, currently about 2 year old. I'm not ovely fussed as I'll probably upgrade in the next few months but I'd like to check to see if I can get them working again.

I've no idea Meatloaf, I don't have much access to another machine. I've an old p3 500 over at my parents I could maybe get at some point if you reckon the cards are the problem.

Bringing this back up again. My op was just over a week ago & this morning they randomly started to work again. Would there be something loose (the cards are well seated) or what would cause PCI slots to randomly start/stop working? Any ideas appreciated, maybe the board is just on it's way out.
