PCI vs PCIe sound

So is there any difference between these two or is it just a matter of choosing the best location on the motherboard? Would be used primarily for gaming.

I do not rate any of them cards sorry .

Buy the proper card like the Extreme Music with better quality DAP's CAP's, Ompamps.

Well if its for gaming the PCI extreme audio is no good at all. The PCI-E one isnt too bad as it does have some EAX support, but as said above the best card to get would be the extreme music

It might be worth knowing what's your external sound equipment (speakers/headphones etc), because if they're cheap tat then in this case whichever sound card may not make a difference to you in terms of sound quality..

The extreme music uses better quality components and has the expansion ports to connect to the internal or external bay

seems the xtreme gamer is the newer version of the music with better EAX. Is there any point getting the retail over the OEM? will having OEM cause me problems if it is faulty?

The extreme gamer is the newer version, but its EAX support is exactly the same as the extreme music and they both use the same driver set.
