pci-x 16x????? help please

Hi guys I run a foxconn NF4K8AC-RS-1.0 amd 3000+ @2.1, 2 gig ddr400 etc etc. Was on the verge of getting a 320mb 8800gts (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-039-BG&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=877)

But at the bottom of the item description it says 'Note: These cards require PCI-E x16 slots, they will not function in a x8 slot so for SLi you need dual x16 mainboard'

Question is have I ?
I am assuming it refers to just SLi m/boards.

GTS will work in an 8x slot, but GTX takes a performance hit in anything but a 16x slot.

Can't find any specs on it but if it has an 8x PCI-E slot it'll be fine.

I just noticed your title says PCI-X, is it PCI-E and not PCI-X?

Won't work in a PCI-X slot.

Just made that switch myself for the first time in quite a while, the GTS has impressed me a lot.

Same here, last card i had by Nv was the GeForce 4 Ti4600, didnt fancy the leaf blower which was the next card (FX5800), so got the Hercules 9800pro as it looked an awesome card with the silent blue LED fan, got that and was blown away by the iq difference, and i went to ATi at the right time as they had just sorted their drivers out, then got the x800pro, then the x800 XT PE, then my last card which was the x1800 XT 512mb, all fantastic cards, but seen as ATi didn't have any next gen cards out, and the 320mb GTS came out at sub £200, it had to be bought, and im well impressed with it, they've done a cracking job on the G80's.
