PCI-X card into new machine

Hi,

Bit of a punt here to see if anyone has any further ideas.

I have an older Bus Analyser card (this card was £6000 new) that has a PCI-X (not PCI Express) connector that I'd like to build a new machine around.

The trouble is that PCI-X motherboards are very thin on the ground and it looks like the second hand market may be the only the way to go, there are some cards on the Bay but it looks like they are over in the States.

I see that it is possible to get an adapter card that will allow a PCI-X card to be used with a PCI Express slot but I'm not sure how well that will work.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Unfortunately, PCI-X is now deprecated in favour of PCI-E. Even servers no longer use PCI-X and they were the last to make the switch.

You're going to either have to go the adaptor route or go for an older system. I have no idea how well the adaptors will work though.
