Morning guys,
Stuck on the train outside Southampton because of some knobber frieght train breaking down, so naturally I'm make the most of this time by browsing OCUK shop and forum
I was looking at getting a haswrll set up in September (was going to be this month's pay but buying tiles and flooring ruined that) and wonder if a sli set up will work with both slots at PCI-E 3.0 x8 on a z87 board, or of it will be PCI-E 2.0 x8, and what I would be losing out on if it was 2.0.
Also, I understand that at the moment, using PCI-E x8 doesn't create a significant bottleneck when using current gpus. However, considering that this motherboard will not be replaced for a good few yesrs, by the time I'm rocking a nvidia GTX 980 sli setup, is it likely that they will be limited by two 8x lanes, and I should be looking at x79 boards? .
