pcie adapter

ive just bought a gtx 460 oem but my power supply only has 1 pcie adapter, i do have a single molex to single pcie adapter than came with my old graphics card but i've also seen two molex to single pcie adapters. will my single one do the job?

ive read the reason for using 2 molex to pcie is to not draw so much current through one cable but my single molex adapter has 6 individual cables just like the two molex to pcie adapter the cables just share the same pins :s

What PSU do you have? Adapters usually have two molex connections to help share the load between the cables.

I recommend you get a two-molex one. another £2 is worth it to protect your safety.

Forget that, I don't think a 430w will power the 460, even if it's a Corsair PSU. What was your old card?

this is for a new build im using my onboard graphics at the minute

i was told my PSU would be fine in a previous thread i posted, i was linked to this

plus the extreme power supply calculator recommends 403W for my system including the 460 768mb

please tell me it will be ok ive already ordered the card
