PCIe extension cables

Does anyone know if there is max length on these extension cables? I am looking at a desk build which needs these to be about 80-100cm long so I can have the motherboard on one side of the desk and the GPUs on the other with storage in the middle. And when I say PCIe extension I mean the riser extensions (normally ribbon cables) not the power leads.

Also, anyone know where I might get some custom made preferably with braided sleeves over the individual cables instead of stock ribbon cable for aesthetics?

I've thought for a while that sleeving a riser would really be difficult. I bought one from a certain rainforest which was about 20cm long.

How come you're not just inserting them into the motherboard? Going to look a little messy with PCI ribbons everywhere?

Because this will be a desk build and I would like to have the SLI array separated from the motherboard with the riser cables run out of view (under the "tray"). I could just get regular riser ribbon cables but I would prefer to get them sleeved for aesthetics.
