Please help

I own a x570 mobo with gen4 pcie, RTX 3080, and an Aorus gen4 NVMe ssd

I want to vertical mount my GPU so I will have to downgrade the PCIEX16 slot to Gen3 (as the vertical riser supports Pcie gen3)

My question is will this downgrade my 1st M.2 slot as well?? Or is thst entirely different lane??

Mobo is Aorus X570 Elite

At least on my board you can choose to only set the x16 slot to gen3

Beware when you update bios, it will reset to gen4 and depending on the riser you may not even be able to boot anymore until you plug the card directly in the slot and change the bios setting (a problem I experienced with a 3090 temporarily on a riser).

I've already updated to latest thanks for that.
Yes the option is only for PCIEX16 . Does this have to to anything with my m2 slot??

Because I saw on many mothervoards m2 slots share power with pcie

shouldn't do

there's another option for the rest which iirc is just "PCIe slot"

no X570 mobo will share the PCIEX16 slot lanes with the nvme, they will normally use 4 other cpu PCIe lanes for the primary nvme and usually the other nvme slots will go through the chipset lanes which uses yet another set of 4 CPU pcie lanes.
