Hi all,

Getting quite confused with PCIE lanes and the MSI x570 unify motherboard. This is a future Ryzen 5000 build.

I have 2 X m.2 drives (PCIE 3) plus 2 normal SATA SSDs and a graphics card to fit in (3080 at some point next year).

How will these share the available lanes?

To complicate things further I was looking to set motherboard to pci-e3 anyway to continue using vertical GPU mount. Not sure if this makes any difference?

Thanks in advance!

PB

The Gpu and one of the m.2 will use lanes from the CPU while the rest will use the chipset lanes.

Changing the Gpu to PCIe 3 shouldn't make a difference.

Thanks, so are there enough lanes to run card slot at x16 and the nvmes at x4?

The manual makes it difficult to fathom!
