Hi guys,
I'm having an issue with one of the PCIe slots on my Asus Sabertooth Z77 MB and any help would be greatly appreciated as it's got me pretty stumped!
The slot in question is the 3rd PCIe x16 2.0 slot (black) at the very bottom of the motherboard. The slot should be able to run at a maximum of x4 2.0. I recently installed a 750ti in this slot to use as a dedicated PhysX card, however, according to GPUZ it is running at x1 2.0.
I don't have any other devices connected to the three x1 PCIe slots that share bandwidth with the 3rd x16 slot and I have been into the bios and switched the x16 slot to x4 mode which switches off the other x1 lanes anyway. My first thought was that it was just in a power saving mode but it remains at x1 even when running PhysX benchmarks.
Is it likely to be a faulty slot on the motherboard or is there anything you can suggest to remedy the problem?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.
